Sara is terrified. She's doing the one thing she cannot afford to fall in love with former pro-football player Adam Black, a man everyone knows. Sara's been hidden away in the witness protection program, her safety dependent on staying invisible—and loving Adam could get her killed! Introducing the O'Malleys, an inspirational group of seven, all abandoned or orphaned as teens, who have made the choice to become a loyal and committed family. They have chosen their own surname, O'Malley, and have stood by each other through moments of joy and heartache. Their stories are told in CBA best-selling, inspirational romantic suspense novels that rock your heart and restore strength and hope to your spirit.
I didn't even know there was a prequel to this series. Have you ever had a book series that just sticks in your head years later? Well, for me, it is this series. I remember starting it back when I was a young teen.
In Danger in the Shadows, we have Sara, who is in hiding pretty much she doesn't have much of a life. I felt that I could have read this book after others, maybe, only because I felt that this book had us already knowing Sara and why she was being protected.
I felt Adam was a bit bossy and pushy when it came to being with Sara. She didn't want to be with him, and we learn why, but it was like he couldn't take no for an answer.
Sara's brother. I truly enjoyed him because he felt like a real person. Putting himself out there to make sure his loved one was safe and truly caring about those around him.
Was this my favorite book? Not at all, I am hoping to read more in this series because it lives rent-free in my head and is only one out of two series that do this.
I am hoping for more action in the other series.
As far as a good, clean mystery and romance, this was it. I think it has been a while since I have read a book that was this clean.
Some of the things going on in the book you could tell wouldn't really work in real life, but I guess that is what makes it a story.
