After years of avoiding each other, Daisy Darker’s entire family is assembling for Nana’s 80th birthday party in Nana’s crumbling gothic house on a tiny tidal island. Finally back together one last time, when the tide comes in, they will be cut off from the rest of the world for eight hours.
The family arrives, each of them harboring secrets. Then at the stroke of midnight, as a storm rages, Nana is found dead. And an hour later, the next family member follows…
Trapped on an island where someone is killing them one by one, the Darkers must reckon with their present mystery as well as their past secrets, before the tide comes in and all is revealed.

So didn't see the twists that came in this story being told. Daisy's grandmother has decided that for her 80th birthday, she wants everyone to come together. Though it isn't a normal birthday celebration. Secrets will come out and people will end up dead for the choices that they made.
First, let me say where does grandma live where once the tide comes in you are stuck there because ya girl would love to live there.
Second, the twists that were happening were super amazing! I literally didn't see who was behind it until the end and I am here for it. To me that is what helps make a good suspense story. I plan on putting this into the library as I think my high school students will truly enjoy it.
At times I thought Daisy was rambling of course, and I think it could have been toned down a bit, but other than that it was a great read.
My favorite quotes are
"We all have bad habits, some we let the world see, some we only reveal with family, and some we’re too ashamed to share with anyone except ourselves."
"Albert Einstein once said that weak people revenge, strong people forgive, and intelligent people ignore."
"Success is the best revenge."
