Lesson #1: trust no one

Eve has a good life. She gets up each day, gets a kiss from her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. All is as it should be. Except…

Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal, with one student, Addie, at its center. And this year, Eve is dismayed to find the girl in her class.

Addie can’t be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that’s what everyone says.

But nobody knows the real Addie. Nobody knows the secrets that could destroy her. And Addie will do anything to keep it quiet.

“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
I sat here and wondered what rating I could give this one, and I bounced between 4 and 5 only because of the repeating of the name Loubatin and the shoe fetish. I got it that Eve was obsessed with shoes, but I felt that the author just overused that so much. I understood that it could be tied to the store that Eve always goes to.
Eve and Nate don't have the best marriage, it seems, and they are both on different wavelengths when it comes to love. On the outside, it may look like they are the perfect couple, but enter the household, and well, we're just gonna leave that there.
Addie a student who has both Nate and Eve in their classroom, she has been labeled a problem student ever since Mr. Tuttle got fired from his job. It seems something inappropriate happened between Addie and him, even though Addie swears it didn't. I wanted more back story when it came to Mr. Tuttle and Addie, I felt there could have been some more in-depth story line there.
I saw a lot of different twists that surprised me, and I liked it. Do know that this story does contain an inappropriate relationship between a student and teacher, which may be a trigger for some.
Was this my favorite book of hers, I can't honestly say, was my mouth opened at certain parts totally!
