Think you know the person you married? Think again…

Things have been wrong with Mr. and Mrs. Wright for a long time. When Adam and Amelia win a weekend away to Scotland, it might be just what their marriage needs. A self-confessed workaholic and screenwriter Adam Wright has lived with face blindness his whole life. He can’t recognize friends or family, or even his own wife.

Every anniversary the couple exchange traditional gifts – paper, cotton, pottery, tin – and each year Adam’s wife writes him a letter that she never lets him read. Until now. They both know this weekend will make or break their marriage, but they didn’t randomly win this trip. One of them is lying, and someone doesn’t want them to live happily ever after.

Ten years of marriage. Ten years of secrets. And an anniversary they will never forget.

I looked around online at the library books and came across this one. Sadly, it had a wait time on it, but once I was able to get my hands on it, I was super excited to start it. This was very interesting to read. I was a bit confused at times, but once I got towards the end, I was like, OMG, are you serious? What! How in the heck did I miss all that. It just finally came together! I loved how the author started each chapter with a definition that went hand in hand with what was being written during that chapter, and I felt I learned a lot of new words I did not know before. I also loved learning a new word called prosopagnosia. I have never heard that word before, and I wonder how many people suffer from this. This story is told between Adam, Amelia, and Robin. As the story unfolds, I can honestly say I was not expecting it to go the way it was going. I felt once the first bombshell fell, it just continued and that I loved. There were many quotes that I just fell in love with throughout the book. This was a darn good book, and I loved how the title went with the plot! I had so many favorite quotes throughout the book that I just had to mark to remember.
1. "My husband doesn't cheat on me with other women, or men, he has love affairs with their words."

2. "I immediately regret saying it, but words don't come with gift receipts and you can't take them back."

3." All people are addicts, and all addicts desire the same thing: an escape from reality. My job just happens to be my favorite drug."

4. "Some people say that marriage is like wine and gets better with age, but I guess it all depends on the grapes. There are definitely years that were more pleasurable than others, and I'd have bottled them if I could."

5. "I wish people were more like books."

6. "Sometimes you just know a person is bad news as soon as you meet them, because they're rotten, inside and out, and instinct tells you to stay away."

7. "We need to stop taking each other for granted. That's another thing nobody tells you about marriage; sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad, doesn't mean it's over. Perhaps this is as good or as bad as it gets? So, although our house stopped feeling like a home, I'm going to try to fix that, and I'm going to try and fix us. Even if that means counseling, or compromises, or perhaps some time away, just you and me … and Bob. Maybe all marriages have secrets, and maybe the only way to stay married is to keep them. Your wife"
