A bloodthirsty sheriff is terrorizing a small Texas town where justice has been buried with his victims. Until Nameless arrives—a vigilante whose past is a mystery and whose future is written in blood.
Anyone who crosses Sheriff Russell Soakes is dead, missing, or warned. One of them is a single mother trying to protect her children but bracing herself for the worst. Nameless fears the outcome. He’s seen it in his visions. Now it’s time to teach the depraved Soakes a lesson in fear. But in turning predators into prey, will Nameless unearth a few secrets of his own?
I pretty much love anything by Dean Koontz, and so I was excited to see this book offered up to read. It was a short read and was different. "Ben Shepard," or at least the name we are given, comes to a small town to unearth the horrible things a sheriff is doing. He is like a vigilante, and all his information comes in the form of premonitions. Nameless knows what he does can change the course of the outcome, and you see, he tries to be very discreet. When he comes to this town, a single mother is the one that needs his help, and our question is can this Nameless man get the justice that is necessary? I was curious about the ending because I want to know who this Ace of Diamonds is. What does this Ace of Diamonds have to do with Nameless? Is it a secret society that has psychics? I wanted more of how did Nameless get these powers?
Dean Koontz, the author of many #1 New York Times bestsellers, lives in Southern California with his wife, Gerda, their golden retriever, Elsa, and the enduring spirits of their goldens, Trixie and Anna
