Brice Blackstone is a black sheep, born with dark hair and the only male ever marked as a witch hunter in Havenwood Falls. He now knows there are others, but as his powers are reawakening, he fears what will happen. After all, the other males are rogues, assassins not only after witches but all supernatural kind. And nobody knows what to expect with him since—as he’d heard throughout his whole life—he is different.

His experiences are definitely different. Strange dreams. Voices in his head. The help he secretly accepts from an unlikely source. And then there’s the way he reacts to the surprise visitor, opposite of everyone else.

Sunny is an anomaly. Always has been. Dante, leader of the rogue hunters, let her march to her own drum, as she’s a valued member of his crew. So when she shows up in Havenwood Falls, Brice’s family goes on full alert.

Brice believes in Sunny, though. She knows things nobody else does—like how he can control the witch hunter within before it takes control of him. And in a town full of witches, he must master himself or lose everything he knows and loves.

I received this book to give an honest review.

More Blackstone witch hunters! This time we are discovering more about Brice Blackstone. He should be on his way to becoming a witch hunter we know that the witch hunters that are out there are mostly not good. Unless they reside within Havenwood Falls and you know how strict this town is. They don't deal with those that want to harm anyone within their town.
As the story unfolds we learn that Brice is different than those within his family. He is hearing voices, and he seems to have two different kinds of powers that are fighting within him though he has no idea about it. His family is very secretive and they want to wait until he has come into his own. Though that might happen sooner rather than later. As Brice is dealing with what is going on with himself, in walks Sunny. Wasn't she a part of the witch hunter that the town got rid of? What are her motives for coming to Havenwood Falls? It seems that she might have some answers for Brice and the family, they just have to trust her. Everything, as you know, comes together as the story unfolds and you just have to wonder how this family of Blackstones is so secretive about their life. I think the author did a great job with the battling of both things going on with Brice and how he will have to wrestle them in from time to time. I can't wait to see more of what Brice will be able to do or what he would like to do with his newfound powers.

Morgan WylieMorgan Wylie published her first novel, Silent Orchids, one year after moving across the country with her family on a journey of new discovery. After an amazing three years in Nashville, TN and the release of two more books, Morgan and her family found their way back to the Northwest where they now reside. Still working everyday with great optimism, Morgan continues to embrace all things: "Mama", wife, teacher, and mediator to the many voices and muses constantly chattering in her head... where it gets pretty loud!
