After her mother dies, Melanie must live at boarding house for girls until she is of age. If only the place wasn't haunted and the caretaker's daughter, Ruby, wasn't so darn determined to show Melanie the house's deepest secrets.
When secrets are deadly, only the light can save you.

I picked this book up when it was advertised that it was free on Amazon, though I would have paid to read this story as I love this author's writing style. This is an actual pretty cool ghost story that I would love to see the author go even further into this world. So Melanie can see ghosts and  when she is sent to a boarding house because of the death of her mother it isn't all nice and cozy. The house is depressing and the caretaker is horrible though she seems to come across as nice when she wants to be. When Melanie ends up meeting Ruby, Ruby becomes determined to have Melanie help the ghost residents that are there. Melanie will be in the fight of her life and only the light will save her. For a short story it sure enough pulled me in and I was kind of sad to see it end. I wanted more of Melanie and this world.
