A young boy wakes up from a nightmare and knows he is someone else.
His terrified mother is sure that her son is possessed.
Sara Caine has done everything to quash her paranormal gifts, wanting nothing to do with that world. She’s pushed away everyone who helped her, especially Father Johan Luken.
When Sara Caine and the small family collide in a Venice, California alleyway, the paths of their lives inextricably change course as they delve deeper into the mystery of the missing soul.

I received this book to give an honest review.
This was a good novella to start the series off. It did intrigue me exactly what kind of gifts Sara has that she seems to be running away from. What I really like was how we have a case of a little boy with two souls, to me that just sounds pretty cool but wicked. Sara is trying to make it on her own until she meets a little boy named Sam. This has her been called upon by Father Johan Luken who seems to know and understand what all paranormal goes on especially with this child. What they uncover will be a murder that hasn't been solved but will that cure this little boy? For a short story it was very good but I just felt it lacked the back story that I was expecting of the two main characters, maybe in the other books we will get it. Who knows?
