After travel writer Lea Sutter barely survives a merciless hurricane on a tiny island off the South Carolina coast, she impulsively brings two orphaned twin boys home with her to Long Island. Samuel and Daniel seem amiable and intensely grateful at first, but no one in Lea’s family anticipates the twins’ true evil nature—or predicts that within a few weeks’ time her husband, a controversial child psychologist, will be implicated in two brutal murders.

I saw this book on Libby and just knew I had to try to read it. I love R.L. Stine and wanted to see how this one would turn out. Reading the reviews not a lot didn't seem to actually like it too well, but I have to say this was enjoyable!
An island where dark magic is alive and well.
Lee Sutter is on this island and happens to be in the middle of a hurricane. Well, as she is searching she ends up finding two young boys nothing wrong with that right? Well, as our story unfolds it seems these boys are something not of this world but Lee can't see it. Mark, her husband can but to Lee, they are just boys who have been through a traumatic experience.
Now, Mark, I am not even sure about him though he is a psychologist I couldn't understand his reasoning behind half of what he was doing and why.
I found myself with an AHHHH oh snap didn't see that coming towards the end. I loved that. However, if there was anything that would truly bother me I wanted to know what does the Red Rain come from? What does it really mean? I felt this was never once explained. I would totally have this book in my library for students to read if it did not have the sex scenes that were in the book.
