Six minutes after takeoff, Flight 1421 crashes into the Pacific Ocean. During the evacuation, an engine explodes and the plane is flooded. Those still alive are forced to close the doors—but it’s too late. The plane sinks to the bottom with twelve passengers trapped inside.
More than two hundred feet below the surface, engineer Will Kent and his eleven-year-old daughter Shannon are waist-deep in water and fighting for their lives.
Their only chance at survival is an elite rescue team on the surface led by professional diver Chris Kent—Shannon’s mother and Will’s soon-to-be ex-wife—who must work together with Will to find a way to save their daughter and rescue the passengers from the sealed airplane, which is now teetering on the edge of an undersea cliff.
There’s not much time.
There’s even less air.
With devastating emotional power and heart-stopping suspense, Drowning is an unforgettable thriller about a family’s desperate fight to save themselves and the people trapped with them—against impossible odds.

I have loved everything that this author has written, it feels real. With drowning I literally was sitting here thinking wait could this happen? Would anyone be saved? It makes you think. There is a lot of technical jargon that is used and yes you can probably skim over it, or if you are like me you read it and take it all in especially when it is not anything you know about.
We mostly focus on Will and Shannon then followed by Chris the mother who of course plays a big role. I do notice that with all of her books, that seems to be the one thing that mostly stays consistent. Someone knows someone who is an accident of any kind and they try to save them which isn't a bad thing at all.
While trying to save the people on the plane, we see how Will and his family go through everything that has changed them and how they think about what could be different. I was a bit surprised at the ending as I didn't think it was going to go there so that was really good.
The only main issue I had was the way there was a character who had an allergic reaction umm, if you are old enough to know about your allergies wouldn't you know what not to eat and what you could eat? I just feel that you would know this, and if you are putting food together you would make sure that was something you could not have or be around.
Overall, a great read, and can't wait to read more by her.
