Newlyweds Tricia and Ethan are searching for the house of their dreams.

But when they visit the remote manor that once belonged to Dr. Adrienne Hale, a renowned psychiatrist who vanished without a trace four years earlier, a violent winter storm traps them at the estate… with no chance of escape until the blizzard comes to an end.

In search of a book to keep her entertained until the snow abates, Tricia happens upon a secret room. One that contains audio transcripts from every single patient Dr. Hale has ever interviewed. As Tricia listens to the cassette tapes, she learns about the terrifying chain of events leading up to Dr. Hale’s mysterious disappearance.

Tricia plays the tapes one by one, late into the night. With each one, another shocking piece of the puzzle falls into place, and Dr. Adrienne Hale’s web of lies slowly unravels.

And then Tricia reaches the final cassette.

The one that reveals the entire horrifying truth.
OMG, what a twist!! Tricia and Ethan are newlyweds looking for a house and starting their life. That is until the home they are looking for in a snowstorm (which just seems weird, but roll with it) belongs to a former therapist.
As they are stuck inside this house, Tricia finds information about former patients that the doctor saw. I felt the author did a great job of building the suspense, and I did not see the twist coming. I was texting my coworker and asking is it Ethan? He is behind it, right? She kept her mouth shut and said keep reading, I was so glad I did because once it dawned on me everything that was going on, my jaw hit the floor.
The only thing I did not like about this book was that Tricia kept overusing the word cashmere. How many times do we have to be told a sweater is like cashmere, it is soft like cashmere, and blah blah blah.
I couldn't understand why Tricia kept repeating herself, especially regarding her husband and how she didn't know him that way. Also, her friends would say there were red flags. Like girl, we totally get that you didn't really know him, but you married him. We understand that you guys are only married for a few months and that you really love him, even though he has a temper.
Another thing I didn't understand is how they were not genuinely questioning the food left in the fridge. I'm sorry, but I would not have been eating the food even if I had thought the food was left by the realtor. I am sure that there is a realtor who is not stocking fridges for anyone. Overall, I will give this book a four-star rating. It needs to be a three, but four is good. I really enjoyed the mystery, twist, and the fact that there were two of them (I'm vague).
