The Manipulator

I can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me.
I will make you hurt, make you cry, make you laugh and sigh.
But my words don't affect him. Especially not when I plead for him to leave.
He's always there, watching and waiting.
And I can never look away.
Not when I want him to come closer.

The Shadow

I didn't mean to fall in love.
But now that I have, I can't stay away.
I'm mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves.
The way she undresses...
I'll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine.
And once she is, I'll never let her go.
Not even when she begs me to.

While not required, it is highly suggested to read the novella, Satan's Affair, first.

Trigger warning!!
What did I just read? My niece and her friend were all like you gotta read this book; it is fantastic! Man, y'all, I dived in and wondered, what is wrong with this dude? Why is he doing this? Overall, it's a good story, but man, this is not a romance book. I just found it interesting that he saves women from being trafficked and raped, yet he does what he does with Addie? Make it make sense because it doesn't.
I can't wrap my head around a stalker/rapist that someone is falling in love with, even though she knows it is wrong. Though in the world we live in today, I am sure this happens far more than we think.
I would like to know what happened to the ghost in the story? It was there, and then proof disappeared like it should have.
Was it a read that had me wondering what would happen next?! Would I be reading book two to see how it all ends? Sure, at the end of the day, if I finish a book and know there is a second one, I like to attempt to complete a series.
How can I rate this story? Was it horrible? No, but did it make sense to have a stalker/rapist do what he does to save others yet, he does it himself. Not at all. Was the writing and grammar so bad it turned me away. No. Overall, I decided to give this book a four because it was entertaining; it was something that left me wondering what did I read.
This story isn't for everyone, and that is totally okay!
