What would you do if you woke up dead?

Gabriella remembers only parts of dying. She knows when she wakes up in a casket that she didn't survive the crash.

But being dead doesn't mean she can't enjoy the afterlife.

Antonio is mysterious, lonely, and charming. Fortunately, he's dead too.

With only two days before the end of the Day of the Dead festival, they have to figure out how to catch a murder, avoid the Grim Reaper, and get their Spirits to the Other Side before the Gate - between the living world and the realm of the dead - closes for another year.

First, let me say I love this cover! Anything to do with sugar skulls I am in love with. Also, I love the meaning behind the sugar skulls!
Now on to the review on the story. Was a decent story, Gabriella ends up dying and then is still here on this Earth plane but why? There is always a reason why ghosts stay behind? When she meets another ghost named Antonio she jumps into helping him solve his murder. Sounds easy right? Well, we all know that is never true. A race against time because once the other side closes it can be too late. Now it was a short story may be a thirty-minute read, the only reason I gave it a three star because I want more depth. I felt like it could have been a bit longer. Also, the romance was not needed. It was like hey I'm dead all of a sudden there is this really cute dead guy, let's mess around! When we get towards the end and it is the big reveal how did Antonio not know that the place was being watched? Little things like that. I do believe I will be looking into more books by this author and see more of her in-depth writing of stories.
