Young up-and-coming author Liz McKinnen has no idea that her life is about to change forever when she comes home from her first book tour. When she's kidnapped and told by her captors that she has to kill her fantasy book's antagonist, she thinks that she's fallen into the hands of crazy, dangerous fans... until her antagonist sends a real, fire-breathing dragon after her. Liz is quickly initiated into the Immortal Writers, a group of authors from throughout time whose words have given them eternal life, and whose prose is so powerful that it's brought stories over from the Imagination Field into the Reality Field. As Liz meets authors such as William Shakespeare, JRR Tolkien, Edgar Allan Poe, and Jane Austen, she has to learn how to control magic, fight dragons, and face her own troubled past before her power-hungry villain takes over the world. Will she survive the ultimate battle against the dragon lord whom she created?

I received this book via NetGalley to give an honest review.

You know I was a bit reluctant to read this book I wasn't sure if I would actually enjoy it but I am so glad I did. We are introduced to Liz who is a fantasy author. After touring she just wants to go home and be in quiet, though this doesn't end up happening.
Jill of course ends up kidnapped and she learns that those who kidnapped her are immortal writers. How crazy right? We get introduced to some of the big name writers Hugh Langston, Jane Austen and so much more. For Liz she is in awe of it all until she is told that her characters have come into the real world. That has to be neat right you write and they come into the real world I mean that is just too cool. Though it isn't all fun and games for Liz. Kendric one of her characters has plans to take over the world and it is up to Liz and Curtis (another one of her characters) to stop him. We see Liz fall in love, come to terms with her past which ends up giving her strength to move on, to heartache and learning how to not only fight but use her magic.
Will Kendric be defeated or will the world end with him in power?
I have to say with this story there were so many cool things that I liked about it. From using the imagination room to flying horses and even dragons. I really liked the water dragon that Liz and her friends had to pass by. I don't know what else to write as I feel that I would be giving away so much. Just pick up this fantasy book I don't think you would be disappointed.
I will add in that Liz's past as a child is one from sexual abuse that she received.
