When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.
Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.
They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.
Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

I won this book in a giveaway and was very surprised I won. I haven't read anything by this author though I know of her and her work. I have heard a lot of great things about her. So I knew I would have to read this book as soon as I was able to get to it.
I didn't ugly cry but I did get teary eyed on more than one occasion. This is a story like no other. You have a broken man and young woman who know she shouldn't fall in love but she just can't help it.
Tate is coming to live with her brother until she can get an apartment of her own she is working towards becoming an RN and so she is busy. When she first meets Miles she believes him to be a drunk and that is how these two encounter each other.
Miles is airline pilot along with Corbin Tate's brother. Miles is a very troubled man who has had the worst handed to him in his life. Through out the book we go back and forth between Tate's point of view and what happened to Miles six years ago. The very tragic thing that happened to Miles is what is causing his pain and why he can never love again.
We watch as these two hook up and have the most mind blowing sex ever, along with watching Tate's heart break when Miles doesn't want her long term. Though she knows this it doesn't stop her from going back to him time after time.
When we finally get Mile's story I was literally going OMG I can not believe this. Wow this is why he is the way he is. It broke my heart for him. The question through out this whole story is will Miles finally find happiness? Will he ever be able to love Tate like she does him? Can he come with terms of the past to make a future?
There is so much more I want to tell you about this book but I am giving away too much.
There is a side character who I enjoyed and loved his humor and wisdom and that was Cap. He is works in the building where Miles, Corbin and Tate live. Cap and Tate hit it off right away and you can just tell that Cap is one of those older men who could just give you advice when you need it without so many words.
My favorite quotes in this book:
1. Miles "I didn't fall in love with you Tate. I flew."
2. Cap "I know the thought of confronting your past terrifies you. It terrifies every man. But sometimes we don't do it for ourselves. We do it for the people we love more than ourselves."
I highly recommend this book, I am so glad I finally got around to read this author's book.
