Review: A Reaper Made by Liz Long

Grace had finally gotten used to her new afterlife as a “Made” – a Reaper who used to be human. When Made Reapers and souls begin disappearing, however, Grace and her mentor Tully suspect demons. Grace’s worst fears are confirmed when her living family is threatened.

She’ll have to break every rule in the Reaper book to save them, including using a little magic to become temporarily human. With the help of Tully and her witchy friend Tessa, Grace goes undercover to save the fates of kidnapped souls – only to discover that demons aren’t working alone. Betrayal and distrust runs deep and Grace discovers that sometimes even Reapers are prone to humanity.

I actually won this book in a giveaway. This is a new author for me so I was like I could give her work a try.

With A Reaper Made we are thrown into the world of Grace who is a reaper. Now I love the whole reaper thing. Being able to take souls when they are ready and helping them move on is a gig I would want if I died. Yes I am sure it would get boring and be sad sometimes but it would be something that I think I could do. But anyway on to the review.

Grace is a young woman who died early. Instead of moving on to Heaven or Hell she was a made. By being made that meant she has become a reaper. She was made by her mentor Tully.
Now of course there are rules to being a reaper and Grace has followed them even though she has a smart mouth which I like.

Grace's scene is the retirement home and that is where her chargers are. She is fairly new to this whole reaper game and thanks to her strict teacher Tully he is helping guide her along. When reapers start disappearing Tully starts looking into it with the help of Grace and a friendly witch Tess we learn what is happening and why.

Now one of the rules of a Reaper is you CAN NOT BE SEEN and you can not go and see your family. With this case of the missing reapers Grace gets to break the rules even if Tully does not want her too.
But will it put Grace's family in danger, is Grace in danger? All this is answered and more.
There is some action, some mystery as to who is behind this all, demons, witches and talk of angels. A cool world this author has going on.

By the ending I think there could be another book into this reaper world.
