Kaitlin Mayer is on the run from the father of her baby – a vampire who wants her to join him in deadly eternity. Terrified for her young son, she seeks sanctuary with the hunters guild. Yet they have their own plans for her son, and her hopes of safety are soon shattered.
When she runs into Matthew Blair, an old nemesis with an agenda of his own, she dares to hope for a new escape. But Matthew is a telepath, and Kaitlin’s past is full of dark secrets she never intended to reveal.

I received this book to give an honest review.

I am so glad that we get to hear Kaitlin's story after all she is pregnant with Jason's baby but we know Jason has been changed.
Kaitlin is not the same as before, it seems she has been used by Jason for Xavier's plans. She also lives for her son who will one day be a hunter and her instinct is to protect him.
When she escapes Jason and Xavier which we all know is hard to do the only place safe to go is to the hunters compound Alexander's compound. Though can he even be trusted as Kaitlin has no magic abilities she is no use to him. When an old frenemy comes to the compound to find some things out it ends up being a rescue mission along with two people finding that they do have feelings for each other. What will become of Kaitlin in the end, will she and her son escape and be safe or will she be captured by Jason and Xavier?
We also get a bit of understanding why Kaitlin is the way she is because of her past. She has always been a bit of a mystery but never played a bit part until she got with Jason. She also learns just how strong of a person she truly is. Will Matthew help her understand that those dark secrets are nothing that he cares about it is just her that he likes.
