“I'm Jesca. I have intense nightmares nightly and hallucinations of dark auras closing in on me daily. Strangers’ faces distort before my eyes and I hear voices in my head. All symptoms of insanity, ‘illusions in reality’, right? Wrong. This is my reality and it has been set askew.”
Jesca Gershon Sera discovers that she is part of a legacy and a fellowship of guardians destined to protect the human race from a galactic event that will invade and evolve our world.

*The Piercing the Fold series is intended for Mature Young Adult and Adult readers due to the the paranormal and unorthodox scientific concepts addressed throughout. This series contains a rich mixture of the paranormal, science fiction, romance, adventure, and suspense. *

I received this book to give an honest review.

This was a pretty decent Sci-fi book and unique. You have a young woman who suffers from nightmares. But there is more to the nightmares than just that, Jesca has abilities. She has become faster, she can hear things around her but she learns it is just not here but there are others. And she starts training with a few people like her and she has acquired a mentor to help guide her.
As we read on, we learn that Jesca is part of a bigger plan within the world. It seems that a scientist found another world! How awesome right. But it is more to that then just another world. You of course have the bad guys who always have to try to out do the good. And in this case it is no different.
There is a lot of science talk with wormholes, different dimensions, that I didn't fully understand but I understood it enough to know that Jesca is a guardian who has to help save humanity from those that want to destroy it.  There is also talk about God and what not, it is not too heavy.
It seems there is a whole lot of people that have known about this and they have been protecting the world for years and in the process losing some people.
The characters were likable but honestly they felt dull besides their abilities. I felt more of a character development could have been done.
There are secrets that will come to the surface and  the ending has you wondering what exactly is the plan to stopping those that want to harm the world.
