Review: Waking Up Dead (Callie Taylor #1) by Margo Bond Collins

When Dallas resident Callie Taylor died young, she expected to go to Heaven, or maybe Hell. Instead, she met her fate early thanks to a creep with a knife and a mommy complex. Now she's witnessed another murder, and she's not about to let this one go. She's determined to help solve it before an innocent man goes to prison. And to answer the biggest question of all: why the hell did she wake up in Alabama?

I received this book to give an honest review.
I have to say that this was a great ghost mystery book that I have read in a long time.  You start off with ghost Callie Taylor. We don't get a lot of information on how she died just bits and pieces later on but we know that she is here on earth instead of moving on and is in Alabama far from home.
Callie goes back and forth between families houses and watches TV and just hangs out with them even though they can not see her. While hanging out with one family she sees the unthinkable occur and she tries hard to stop the killer but of course she can not do anything. How sucky right?
Determined of course not to let the wrong man go to jail for something he didn't do because she saw the killer she embarks on finding someone who can see her and help her out. Which brings us to the characters Ashara Jones and MawMaw. She meets Ashara in the most common place ever the local Walmart which I had to find funny because don't we meet and see everyone at Walmart now a days. Ashara at first doesn't want to help that is until she heads on over to MawMaw's house and she can see Callie as well. MawMaw wants Ashara to help the white woman so she can go on with her life or her dead life.
MawMaw is one of those older ladies that you can just sit and laugh with, the way this author wrote her in this story was just too funny.
Ashara, MawMaw, Stanley who comes in later on and Callie all uncover something more with trying to find the evidence of who murdered Molly. It seems to deal with everything in the past! This is a book that will keep you reading to find out exactly what will be happening next. I like this author's writing style and will be keeping my eye on her. I do hope there is another book with Callie as I think we can use some more mysteries for her to solve with her new friends.
