Blog Tour Mind Games (Cassie Scot #3) by Christine Amsden : Book Review and GIVEAWAY

20556236Beware your heart and soul…
Evan broke Cassie’s heart two months ago, and she still doesn’t know why. She throws herself into family, friends and her new job at the sheriff’s department, but nothing helps. The only thing that finally allows her heal and move on is the love of a new man, mind mage Matthew Blair. Cassie finds him... irresistible
Matthew may also be the only one who can help keep the nonmagical residents of Eagle Rock from going crazy over the murder of a beloved pastor’s wife. It looks like a sorcerer is to blame, but while Cassie tries to figure out who, others take matters into their own hands. With tensions running so hot, a single spark might set Eagle Rock ablaze.

I received an ARC copy to give an honest review.

I really enjoy the world of the paranormal that this author has created with Cassie. I would highly recommend you read the other two books in this series so you can get a feel of the characters and their powers and a bit of their background.
Mind Games takes place where book two ended. Cassie and Evan are no longer together but he just can't or won't let her be and let her get on with her life.
Cassie is slowly getting her life back to normal but of course nothing is normal in the town she lives in. Evan has a secret that Cassie ends up discovering and lets just say she is very very upset.
New characters are introduced and we get a look at more the townspeople that live in Eagle Rock that we have before. But is it a good thing or a bad thing? While Cassie is getting over Evan she ends up catching the eye of a very important figure head Matthew but what are his intentions with Cassie. Because we all know it seems everyone has an agenda when it comes to Cassie.
There is a lot of action within this book and a lot of hate being thrown around so be prepared especially when it involves the children.
There are questions with Cassie's friends that I have to know what is going on. Hopefully those answers will be in book four.

Cassie is still a strong character, very independent which I like. Even though she still doesn't have her magic abilities like everyone else she can still kick butt and solve her cases.  Evan is well still Evan he is still a bit pushy and doesn't like the word no.
If you enjoy the paranormal, a bit of romance, a strong female character pick up the ParaNormal series!

Other titles in this series:

Christine Amsden has been writing fantasy and science fiction for as long as she can remember. She loves to write and it is her dream that others will be inspired by this love and by her stories. Speculative fiction is fun, magical, and imaginative but great speculative fiction is about real people defining themselves through extraordinary situations. Christine writes primarily about people and relationships, and it is in this way that she strives to make science fiction and fantasy meaningful for everyone.

At the age of 16, Christine was diagnosed with Stargardt’s Disease, a condition that effects the retina and causes a loss of central vision. She is now legally blind, but has not let this slow her down or get in the way of her dreams.
In addition to writing, Christine teaches workshops on writing at Savvy Authors. She also does some freelance editing work.
Christine currently lives in the Kansas City area with her husband, Austin, who has been her biggest fan and the key to her success. They have two beautiful children.
