Purgatory Reign by LM Preston

Purgatory Reign

Peter Saint’s life stinks. But things are about to get much worst. First, his parents are murdered in front of him. Then another victim dies in his arms. Visions plague Peter with warnings that something wants him for a sinister cause. It desires the one thing that Peter refuses to give—his blood. Peter carries within him the one gift or curse that could unlock a secret to destroy the human race. On the run with Angel, a scruffy kid, Peter starts to unravel the mystery. It’s the one treasure the heavens sought to hide from the world. Unfortunately, when Peter finds the answer that he hopes will save the girl he loves, he opens the door to a great evil that happens to be salivating to meet him

My review:
I received this ARC copy from the author to give an honest review. I was actually pretty amazed at how quickly I got into the story. Peter is an orphan who has a tendency to get into trouble, not bad trouble just that he gets in trouble when he takes up for others. Easy way I can put that.  You will see action and butt kicking from these young cats! You will learn about 2 secret orders one being the good guys (heaven) and the bad guys (hell). Peter finds himself on the run after he is marked by a girl he meets on the streets one night, and his whole world changes. He meets others that are in a way like him. Their parents were murdered, people are looking to hunt and drain them too as the evil guys want their blood. Their blood holds power and secrets that the good guys are trying to protect. Peter does not trust easy so he is very weary about the others that he has met. Will they be with him or against him? There is a war that is coming and when you read the last page in this book you will want to read more. How will this war end? Will Evil trumpet and get their wish or will Good conquer? There are twist and turns through out the book! I recommend this for YA on up!

One of the parts in the book I enjoyed was at the end when Peter grabbed the demon out of Gavin. I thought that was pretty wicked.

My Rating: 5 wine glasses
