Matthew is just trying to hold the wreckage of his life together after his girlfriend left him for another woman. A chance to review a West End play seems like a lucky break, until it turns into an X-rated nightmare. The next day London tears itself apart, people make love in the streets and kill each other over a dirty sandwich. Overnight everything changes, the city is very quiet, people smile and nod, but what they smile and nod at is only visible to them. The only other normal person is Jeremy, sarcastic, intelligent and frequently wrong. Together they form an uneasy alliance that lasts until cone shaped aliens land and begin harvesting people like wheat. The last two survivors in London begin a desperate search for a way to stop the aliens before it's their turn, unaware that millions of people have already killed themselves to give them the perfect weapon. Will Matthew and Jeremy realize the weapon they have been given before its too late?

I received this book to give an honest review.
So at first, I was actually enjoying the story that is until Matthew met Jeremy and after that, I just kept hoping the book would finish quickly. I did like the idea of people turning into brain dumb zombies that was a neat twist and something that I have not read before. Though at first the people of the world are not just dumb they become violent or very sexual, then it happens. It will be up to Jeremy and Matthew to stop this invasion that is happening but will it be too late for them and can it even be done? The ending was pretty neat for me and I liked how that came about after all that these two did to get the human race back on track.
I think the one thing that bothered me with Jeremy is the way he treated Matthew at times. It just grated my nerves. Yes, they might have been the last two survivors but I think I would have wanted to be on my own instead of being with someone who is crazy.
I know a lot of people like Sci-fi and I would say give this book a try and see what you think.

Peter lives in England with his long-suffering wife. He originally trained as a teacher, but now supports Microsoft windows and ArcSight ESM. His first story was a fictionalized account of a disastrous trip to Las Vegas with a dental abscess. Since then, he has written a vampire story (without any actual vampires) and about a perfectly ordinary day at the office that will last for eternity. Walk in the Flesh is his first book, and possibly the only book based on a scene from the 1966 film Arabesque.
