Escape was just the beginning.
Held captive for eight years, Lily has grown from a teenager to an adult in a small basement prison. Her daughter Sky has been a captive her whole life. But one day their captor leaves the deadbolt unlocked.
This is what happens next...
... to Lily, to her twin sister, to her mother, to her daughter...and to her captor.

I received this book via NetGalley to give an honest review.

Just reading the blurb had me wondering about where this book was going to go. This is a book that once you get into you want to see how it is going to end.
Lily was kidnapped and held captive for eight years! EIGHT YEARS! In that time she has been beaten, abused in so many ways just so she would behave. Then we see she has a daughter named Sky who is her whole world and when luck comes Lily's way and she is able to escape she does it for herself and her daughter. This story is told between different P.O.V.'s Lily, Abby (her twin sister), Eve (their mother) and Rick.
It was not hard to go between them all as it flowed nicely.
The story is mostly how Lily and Sky try to move back into a normal life while dealing with Rick being in jail for what he did. We get insight on how everyone was affected by this and how everyone coped in different ways. Abby to me was the one most affected by her sister Lily being gone, it seems that she has had to deal with a lot and at the end I think the help she was getting was going to be good for her.
The only thing I didn't understand within the book was the romance between the sheriff and Eve. What was the point of it really being in the book?
Other than that I found the book to be a good read, I love books that have a happy ending when tragedy hits from the beginning.
I do have to say though this was not really a mystery or thriller more like trying to get your life back together after having it taken away from you kind of book.
