Series:  Addicted Trilogy, book 2
Genre:  Contemporary Romance
Release Date:  June 15, 2015

Sara Hawthorne thought she had found the man of her dreams. He was caring, protective to a fault and desired her in ways she had only dreamed of. Her life was finally falling into place until a secret tore her new world apart. Reeling from a devastating betrayal, she ran from the only man who had broken down her defenses, making her feel alive after years of simply existing.

Alek Devera risked it all to keep her safe. His own happiness meant nothing if she wasn’t protected. But when Sara ended their relationship, the evidence of his betrayal strewn at her feet, he vowed to win her back, putting their delicate future into fate’s hands.

Will Sara give Alek the chance he needs to explain or will she choose to forge ahead with her simple life, leaving her heart in the shadows along with her dreams for a happily ever after?
“Now is as good a time as any for me to practice self-control, don’t you think?” I asked, knowing full well she was becoming even more frustrated the longer I waited.

She groaned into my neck, her warm breath tickling my skin.

I was waiting her out, her submission being the ultimate goal. I wasn’t going to tell her in words, but rather in actions. She would catch on eventually. I had faith in her.

After a few very long minutes, she finally relented. Halting all movement to try and tempt me to thrust inside her, she expelled a quick rush of air and laid still. Her eyes never left my face, and it was in those pools of beautiful amber that I saw her offer to me.

“Good girl,” I teased. “You know I’m the one in charge in here, right?”

She nodded. One simple gesture, but it was all I was looking for.

S. Nelson grew up with a love of reading and a very active imagination, never putting pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard until a year and a half ago.

When she isn’t engrossed in creating one of the many stories rattling around inside her head, she loves to read and travel as much as she can.

She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and two dogs, enjoying the ever changing seasons.

“Don’t you think we should be leaving, Mike?” Alex said from between gritted teeth.
“Do you want the engine to die again? And it’s Micah.”
“What?”
“You can call me Micah or you can call me Mr Clarke, but don’t ever call me Mike.”
The first eater reached the car and slammed a bloody palm onto the window next to Alex.
“I’ll call you sweetheart and bake you cupcakes if it will get us moving.”

Sometimes, the best person to fight the monsters is someone who’s been one.

The last person Alex MacCallum wants to go through a major eater outbreak with is Micah Clarke. Alex is a Survivor. Bitten four years ago by an eater and treated, he survived the cure and is now stronger, faster and immune. But he lives with the stigma of being a “white-eye”, feared and despised. Micah has good reason to hate Survivors like Alex. He’s dedicated his life to convincing others they are dangerous and training himself to fight the threat he thinks they pose.

The world has lived with Meir’s disease for thirteen years, but when a new strain starts turning the population into eaters faster than ever before and their city is overrun, Alex and Micah grudgingly join forces to stay alive.

Can they survive the hordes of eaters, as well as each other, long enough to discover a way to stop this new virus?

Excerpt from A New Threat by Aaron Demott:
Bast rushed through the forest while trying to maintain some measure of stealth. She flicked her ears in every direction and listened for anything unusual. So far, only natural sounds filled the forest.
The air was crisp and sunlight filtered through the leaves. The perfect day for her first assignment. She clenched her jaw, measured her breathing, and straightened her tail. She needed this assignment to go well. Only then could she be recognized as an adult.

Scouts from every one of the clans had seen the giant metal ship—something that large and with such an unnatural shape could only be a ship—come slowly down to the ground. If it kept going without a change in its speed or direction, it would land in the part of the Large Grassland which fell inside in her clan's territory. Besides, where could it have come from? What sort of creature would travel through the stars on such a craft?

She approached the edge of the forest and looked around for a nice bit of cover. She found a line of bushes between a stand of trees. It would work perfectly and provide an escape back into the forest if it became necessary. She sat on her haunches behind the brush, curled her tail around her feet, and licked a speck of dust off one of the white patches of fur on her paw. The ship should land soon.
"It could be crashing too..." she mused aloud.

But the scouts and scientists had reported it was on a stable course and wasn't on fire or anything. She liked surprises–for the most part–and this would certainly be an interesting sight. A faint, high-pitched noise came from the west. She poked her nose from the bush and raised her whiskers in that direction. Nothing yet. She waited a little longer. The sound grew louder, and a slight wind blew across the plain.

Living in simulated reality, SIM, is all the rage in the mid twenty-first century. But just when it seems that illusion has triumphed and Reality has become irrelevant, Reality throws a curve ball.

Audrey is a SIMdesigner and an artPrank hacktivist. When her friend Dano disappears, Audrey is forced into the gritty world of Real to find him. People disappear all the time in this dystopian near future. But then there are Type III disappearances, so when the young Milan also vanishes, but this time right before Audrey’s eyes, the quest for the disappeared takes a whole new turn and Audrey finds herself unwillingly thrust on a bizarre existential odyssey. Real? SIM? Or hallucination? Nothing is what it seems.
Meanwhile, Milan wakes floating in midair before the floor suddenly comes up and crashes hard into him. He looks around and at first the room does nothing. Then it wakes up. Myllan is on the other side, a place where people meet in Astral, not SIM, where luminescent mushrooms grow in the snow, and the weather knows what you are thinking.

Excerpt from: Chapter 1 Switch and gRazer

Audrey and Nina liked meeting here, dangling their legs off this unknown digital dock someplace, somewhere, on an unknown digital lake, wriggling their toes in the spectral water. An unforgiving white light reflected off the waves and over-exposed their faces like some faded bleached-out memory. A first version eyeVid freeware, it was now on some long forgotten and discarded netWorld by-way. Nobody remembered it. No one else came anymore. It was now their private SIMlounge. They’d been hanging here, just the two of them, since they were SIM enraptured kids playing with their very first eyeVids.

Author: Karen Solomon
Publisher: Missing Niche Publishing
Pages: 247
Genre: Nonfiction
Format: Hardcover/Paperback/Kindle/Nook
Hearts Beneath the Badge is a unique compilation of interviews with officers across the country. It's not about the crimes they witness or the judgment they face; it's about them - Damien, Danny, Frances, Ken, Pamela, Brian, and more. Their thoughts, their fears, their proud moments and their heartbreak. It's about the people we often don't see because we are blinded by the uniform.

They are among the hundreds of thousands that are unseen each day, the men and women that go back for more no matter the personal cost. They provide meals, rides, lifesaving breaths and prosthetic legs. Yes, even prosthetic legs. There is much more to them than meets the eye-or the news camera. By reading this book, you will open yourself to a world of people you may have forgotten existed. You will see the names, families and some of the faces of the police officers that don't make the news.

Hearts Beneath the Badge is a book about the good deeds officers perform. There is a pressing need for people to see more than just the officer's hearts; they need to see their souls. Society as a whole needs to accept police officers for who they are - mere mortals. In order to do that, they must look through the layers of the officer's lives and see the heartache and joy, the same heartaches and joy we all experience. Society also needs to know that, whether we want to admit it or not, there is a price to be paid for pursing the love of the law.

But not even the throne is safe when you rule in Hell.

In the wake of a failed assassination attempt, Madison learns about a realm of the damned older than Hell itself. A fierce and powerful incubus vows to escape his imprisonment there and his efforts are weakening the bonds that hold him and countless other monsters at bay. With no plan and nowhere else to turn, Madison contacts an unlikely source for help. But whose side is he really on? Will he help preserve her reign, or bring about Hell’s downfall?

Choose your partnerships carefully…

(Video created by Videos by O)

“Collecting and torturing a soul is dangerous business, my sister,” Zen said.

“So was becoming Queen of Hell. What’s problematic about going with the flow?”

More of the same unblinking stare from him. “If you go rogue, Madison…”

Madison slammed against the window-wall behind her. Despite the pane’s solidness, she felt it shimmy when it received the brunt of her weight. Recognizing Zen’s new demonstration of power, she elevated her eyebrows at him. With a smirk, she rubbed her back against the glass. She palmed her dragon blade as she flung a ninja star. He leaned to the side, dodging the star with ease. Of course she missed.

“You can’t kill me.”

Only his creator could take him down.

Madison palmed her other dagger and eased away from the window. “Is this you coming for me, Zen?”

His one-shoulder shrug sufficed as an answer. The pounding on the door, followed by Nix and Micah’s yelling further answered her question. Zen had magically locked them out. That’d been why she saw his power flare for a brief second during their conversation.

She went for him. He blocked each jab and slash. Every kick and punch. She eyed him as they circled one another.

He toys with us, her demon remarked.

Of course he does, that was Zen’s way when they sparred.

“Have I not taught you anything?” He smacked her across the cheek in a whip-like move she hadn’t seen coming. It wasn’t hard enough to hurt, but the blow stung all the same. “You tire yourself knowing I’m the superior fighter. It’s like you sacrifice yourself to me. Too easy.”

They went at it again. She tripped over a rug, stumbled backward, and came up dead-footed with her spine against the windowpanes. He moved into her space. Eye-to-eye they stared at one another, her panting the only racket in the room.

“So this is how it all ends?” she asked as he elevated a hand and braced it against the glass next to her head.

“Maybe...”

The door practically throbbed from all the kicking, pounding, and magic thrown at it.

“You’re scaring my men.”

“They should be terrified.”

Madison settled her hand on his arm. “I trust you.”

She chugged his magic harder than she ever had anyone’s, and screamed as pain slashed through her head. Zen’s eyes widened, silver bright, and he jerked away as his magic held strong, barring her husbands from the room.

Zen stumbled, his footing off, and he swayed a moment before going to a knee. Wincing as the pain receded, Madison circled him and secured her blade in its leather holster.

She threaded her fingers in his hair and pulled his head back. His shallow breathing surprised her, “Concede defeat?”
