Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado boasts one of the most beautiful and deepest canyons in the United States. For twelve-year-old Brian Garrett, a weekend camping trip in the park promises to be an opportunity to bond with his aloof parents. But after his father suffers a horrible accident during a hike to the chasm’s floor, events spiral quickly out of control, and over the next twenty-four hours Brian will uncover a terrifying dark side to his father—and an even darker side to himself.

I received this book to give an honest review.

Wow is all I can say to this. I totally didn't see it going the way the author had it written. It is a thriller, mystery, suspense all rolled up into one.
I couldn't sleep one night so I started this book around 3:00 a.m. and was finished within 30 minutes it was one I could not put down until I knew what the outcome was. Yes this is a novella but it was a page turner.
This story is written from Brian's point of view which is pretty good. Everything seems good until Brian's father wants to go camping one day, what happens on that day is something that has you wondering what else is in store for us readers. There is a very dark side to Brian and one we will get answers to at the end.
I love this authors way of telling a story and pulling you in I plan on reading more of his work.
