My Review:

I received this book from the author to give an honest review.

What can I say? Where do I start? This book was absolutely an amazing read for me. The author was able to capture the language of a teenager perfectly in my opinion. The way Ruby and Jeremy talked I actually could visualize going back about 7 or 8 years and seeing me and my friends talk the same way. I fell in love with Ruby because it seemed anything she had to say or what she would do was funny. And the way she would blush around Mr. Hotness a.k.a Nick the hot throb that she has a crush on and ends up going on a couple of dates with. 
Nick was a real gentleman in this book, I loved how he never rushed anything with Ruby and when he surprised her with flowers. Not just regular same ol' flowers that every girl seems to get, but white peonies that are a symbol of luck and happiness. 

Ruby Blue starts off with her explaining a bit about herself, how she got her name and a bit about her life. She has been able to see faeries since she was five, and loves to garden since her mom got her into it at an early age pulling weeds. She has a best friend named Jeremy who is gay and I love how his character is portrayed in this book. The relationship between Ruby and Jeremy is a great friendship that I can see in real life. Ruby also has her two faerie friends that she has been friends with for 12 years and has been able to keep their secret of them being faeries from her best friend and her family. Anya and Brennan can live among the humans for a long time but have to regenerate their power from the Earth and plants. 

Ruby Blue takes place over the summer with teenage love happening, secrets being put out in the open (nothing that will have you saying OMG how could that have been a secret) just regular secrets, and a magical adventure. Where they will have to send a dragon back to the Fey (where the faeries live) and something happens to Ruby which I believe we will find out more in book 2. 

This book is a perfect YA read. If you enjoy reading about faeries, a little teenage love, magic, adventure then I highly recommend you pick this book up and give it a read. I don't think you would be disappointed. 

One of my favorite words that I read and I think I might end up catching myself say it was the word "craptasic" I have never heard of it used before. Here is how it was used in one of the sentences from the book. Page 76 "Ahhh craptasic! Just what we need. More destruction around here."
